Too much eyecandy for only a weekend… Luckily I already started wednesday evening with some great shows.
Alicja Kwade stilstand at Contemporary food lab was indeed not moving.
With a lonely fixed constant presence – a huge stone – or piece of rock was placed in The middle of The small exhibitionspace in Mitte. On the wall – framed – you’ll find 12 small watchpieces delicately placed to show each of the 12hours (am-pm) clockwise continously standing still in front of you. I don’t believe in time other than it’s functionality – it is a tool. To coordinate with other human beings in my surrounding world.

Another stop was Galerie Martin Mertens where Miriam Vlaming currently is showing the exhibition Muse. Her paintings are vivid, colourfull, yet with a dark, anxious quality. The technique refers to an urban style, a slight relation to the visual properties of street art, grafitti and stencil work. The artworks are lively, with an inherent movement.
Alicja Kwade can be seen until june. More details here
Miriam Vlaming until the 28.06.2014 – more details here
Viel spaß
